Despite impossible odds, Chicago native, Wesley Willis became an underground rock icon, revered artist and hero to many before his untimely death in 2003. Through his force of personality and his artistic talents, Wesley's music and art attracted people from all walks of life. Speaking with members of his family and many of his closest friends, and featuring ample footage of the man himself, this film follows the prolific artist on his journey from obscurity to fame.

Wesley Willis's Joyrides won The Golden Hugo at The Chicago International Film Festival, and was a selection of the Slamdance Film Festival.
