Artur, a forensic pathologist in Sao Paulo, enjoys imagining causes of death for people who are still alive. One day he is asked to examine the corpse of a young woman found along with the remains of activists who had disappeared during the military dictatorship in the 1970s. Artur discovers that the body has remained intact for over thirty years. He is intrigued. Artur meets Fernanda, a young lady almost identical to the corpse and assumed to be the daughter of the activist. But Fernanda's mother is still alive...
